A quick review of...perimeter!
Students used a Frayer Model in class to revive their knowledge of perimeter. At home they were asked to make their own Frayer Model for Area of a Rectangle.

This week in 5C we began our measurement unit.

First, students discussed and asked questions about the new central idea. They identified four new vocabulary words that needed further investigation. With the help of both dictionaries and thesauruses we identified a variety of synonyms to better understand our new central idea.

- appropriate - good or correct

Measuring without a ruler.
After discussing our new central idea. Students identified five different classroom objects they could appropriately measure with a given tool. Many used 30 centimeter rulers. Some used feet.
